  Starting the long drop into the river valley. The next pass we'll be taking (via the cut-off) is up in the distant mountains.  Mayela in the lowlands forest. We've dropped about a thousand feet from the last picture.   Cool little spring where we pumped some more water. This was on the "wall" of the Trail Rider cut-off.   IMGP1604  At the top of the cut-off - I forget just how far we climbed, but it was a long way. About 2000 feet, I think. Getting to the top felt good.
