  It took about an hour to get above the treeline. We thought we were almost there. Heh.  After a hefty climb, we came up to the only relatively flat spot ... for a few hundred yards.   This is what we saw next (Paul heading onward). As I recall, this wasn't even the summit, either.   IMGP1693  Some birds that just refused to be scared (probably because they're so hard to see).
