  (1 of 4) On the side of Tempest, enroute to Granite. This cloud-filled valley is where we've camped on previous trips. Avalache and Snowball lakes are down there.  (2 of 4) The ridge leading up to Granite Peak. The famed "Finger of God" tower is just barely being hit by the sun.   (3 of 4) Granite Peak summit   (4 of 4) The summit, and where we're headed ... the saddle between Tempest and Granite Peak, down at 11,400 feet. We had to lose 700 feet to reach the saddle. :(  On Granite now, with clouds below us, and clouds above.
