  Jerome, Brandon, and Mayela on the ridge above the treeline.  Mayela hitting the *one* downhill spot on the ridge. For about 150 feet.   Paul and Brandon in the shelters we built when we spent the night on the side of the mountain back in March 1999. They're still there!   This is the view we got back then when we woke up -- except the far mountain was covered in snow, and we got to watch an avalanche on it. Incredible.  For future reference: the altimeter says this is at ~11,257 feet, and it's just a dozen or so yards below the trail.
