  Now it gets a little crazier, about 3/4 mile in.  The remains of a large tree which was burned.   Interesting how the entire tree is scorched (and the ground immediately around it), but other stuff is still green.   Lengthwise along the tree. The trunk is about 3 feet in diameter.  New life springing up from the old. For scale, Mayela is standing in the center background.
