  View from upper ridge to the south. Thompson Peak is the spire jutting out near the left side of the frame.  View from upper ridge to the southwest, including several small frozen lakes in the basin.   Preparing to descend from the upper ridge at ~9300 feet. Goat lake (not visible in this shot) sits about 1100 feet below us.   The initial drop over the ridge was steep and slippery  Stephen failing to gracefully descend the initial slope.
