  Snowy Top Summit. Picture 9, facing due South. The peak behind the antenna is the one we saw with the building on it, about 2 miles away.  Snowy Top Summit. Picture 10, facing SW.    There were three hawks flying around the summit constantly, sometimes within 20 feet of us! This is the best picture we got, though. Note the stormy clouds moving in.   Because I dig this sort of stuff! The innards of the box included some rack-mount radio gear, four 7.5AH/6V batteries (HEAVY!), a mallet, some rope, duct tape, and a CB-style handset. Looks like it's a repeater operating in the 140-160 Mhz region. Labeling appears to be for multi-agency firefighting use.  After running out of water and getting rained on, we made a break for the building we saw from afar. Turns out it's atop Little Snowy Top, and here we are getting close to it. No water there, though. :(
