  Paul and tree.  Last spot of flat ground before the trail starts climbing the spine of the mountain.   Here's where Dad and I pitched camp during our climbing trip in July 1996. The trees have grown somewhat.   Starting toward the summit, the winds picked up to 20-30 mph and it got COLD!  One of the rare places where you can stand with one foot literally on each side of the mountain.
