  Next day, on the climb out of the valley.  A cool old tree that just had to be photographed.   Paul just below the switchbacks leading to the first pass. This part reminded both of us of the Maroon Bells in Colorado.   View from the pass (9400') down into the Edith Lake basin. The trail climbs the opposite mountain toward the next pass, or it goes down further into the valley toward Edith Lake.  Some brightly-colored wildflowers along the trail
