  The diminishing glacier on the backside of Great Northern. 2 of 3.  The diminishing glacier on the backside of Great Northern. 3 of 3.   At about 7900 feet, the weather turned sour and it started to rain ... sideways. We decided to turn around, so here was our "almost made it" shot as clouds settled on the peak.   And of course, I had to call somebody from the mountaintop, just because...!  Then, I decided ... hmm why not try for the summit anyway? Hiking into a cloud might be kinda cool!
